The recent government announcements have allowed MotorSport New Zealand to further undertake planning around our return to motorsport activities.
We understand that everyone in our sport has a huge desire to get back behind the wheel and our team are working hard on our ‘Restarting Motorsport’ plan.
MotorSport New Zealand is actively working with Sport NZ around clarifying some of the guidelines they have issued and questions specific to our sport. Once we have worked through these points with Sport NZ we will finalise our plans and notify our member clubs. We expect these clarifications within the next few days.
Our Restarting Motorsport plan will include a toolkit for event organisers to ensure events will be compliant with government regulations and safe for everyone involved. The resources inside the toolkit will include things such as signage, venue plans, emergency response plans, checklists and general health guidelines.
We will continue to provide the most up to date information on our website at https://motorsport.org.nz/covid-19/.
We look forward to restarting motorsport again and seeing all of our competitors, volunteers, crews and officials again soon. We encourage our event organisers to start submitting requests for permits on MotorSport Online now so we can ensure there are no delays due to a sudden influx of requests.
