73rd AGM Brief

The 73rd MotorSport New Zealand AGM was due to take place on 22 August as a face to face event in Wellington. However, the office quickly arranged a plan B which was to move it to be a shortened AGM via video conference. A number of logistical challenges ensued but with the co-operation of the hotel and our AV team, we managed to get this set up within a few days.

Deborah Day was confirmed for a further term on the Board however we do lose David Taylor who is stepping down after his 3-year term as an appointed Board member.

We have some new faces joining our commissions – Mark Mallard takes up the vacant position on the Race Advisory Commission, Tony McConachy joins the Rally Advisory Commission and Tim Hill was appointed to the Historic Advisory Commission in the vacant position.

A big thanks go out to all of the delegates that attended via the video link, we know it was a first for many but all in all, I feel that it was a successful meeting with some good discussion around various areas of the Sport that have been troubling some members for a number of months now. The minutes of the meeting are being finalised at the moment and will be circulated to the Members clubs in the very near future. I would also like to say a quick thank you to those observers who tuned in via the live stream link. Although you were not able to interact with the meeting, it was great to see so many taking an interest in the governance of the sport.
