Big congratulations to Brent Redington from the Hawkes Bay Car Club who won the NZ ClubSport Championship in Taupo on 12 April. The ClubSport Championship sees competitors tackle a motokhana, an autocross and a bent sprint. Their combined points total determines the overall champion.
Brent Redington, a previous ClubSport champion, won the motokhana and overall championship; Adam Fisher and Webster Gough (both Harbour Capital Car Club) won the autocross and bent sprint respectively. Both are long time ClubSport Championship competitors who have secured their first titles in 2017.
Kudos also to Jordan Grant who took out the juniors' title (and was 7th overall), and Jilly Hutson who was the top-placed female competitor.
ClubSport Commission chair Bruce McKenzie gives a big shout-out of thanks to the Taupo Car Club Inc. who put on an extremely good event, despite the trying weather, with their very competent team.
