A safety-car incident, sparked by a crash involving New Zealand's Brendon Hartley, set the stage for Daniel Ricciardo to win the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix.
Hartley was hit by Toro Rosso team-mate Pierre Gasly, on lap 31 of 56 in Shanghai, which saw the safety car appear.

Bamber thwarted by broken suspension in Long Beach IMSA race
At the shortest IMSA SportsCar Championship race of the year on the narrow street circuit in California, Earl Bamber (New Zealand) dominated the field until 22 minutes before the end of the 100-minute sprint – only to have to park the 510 hp race car from Weissach, which he shared with Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium), in the pits with a broken suspension.
