Paddon and Kennard first entrants for Brother Rally New Zealand
Kiwi rally stars Hayden Paddon and John Kennard are the first competitors to submit their entry for Brother Rally New Zealand which runs from 21 to 24 June.
Having won the FIA Production World Rally Championship last year, Paddon and Kennard have stepped up another level to contest the FIA Super 2000 World Rally Championship this year. Using a Skoda Fabia S2000 rally car on their home event for the first time, the popular New Zealanders will be looking for a SWRC category win at Brother Rally New Zealand.

NEW TOYOTA CAMRY TEAM RAISES THE STAKES IN NZV8S
Toyota’s 2012 Camry will join Ford and Holden on the BNT NZV8s grid for the 2012-2013 summer racing season as new-generation NZV8 race cars make their competition debut.
Paeroa-based Richards Team Motorsport has announced a two-car team and will build V8-engined 2012 Toyota Camry race cars for the coming NZV8 Gold Star championship season. Richards Team Motorsport is the competition division of Tony Richards Toyota and is managed by Stephen Richards and chief engineer Grant Lowe.

Toyota Camry confirmed for NZV8s Gold Star Championship
NZV8s Ltd is excited to announce that a Toyota Camry will be the first car to be constructed outside of Ford and Holden for the new generation Gold Star V8 Touring Car Championship, running a Toyota V8 engine.

Shepherd Formula First Rookie Champion With Go Rentals Racing
Going into the final round of the national Formula First Championship it was a battle between the experienced Ryan Hellier, Matt Higham who had led the championship from the first round and the young rookie of Rowan Shepherd. Less than a hundred points separated the trio with 225 up for grabs over the weekend.

Hartley makes impressive debut in World Endurance Championship
New Zealand racing driver Brendon Hartley has turned heads in the latest round of the World Endurance Championship, finishing third in the LMP2 class driving for the Irish based Murphy Prototypes Team. The 6 hour event run over the past weekend at the infamous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium was Brendon’s debut driving in the Le Mans Sports Prototype category.

van Klink Heads Classic Challenge Trophy
As the dust settles from the Malcolm Stewart Classic Rally, the attention now turns to the second round of the Classic Challenge Trophy, being contested at the Stadium Cars & Nichibo Otago Classic Rally.
After a stand out performance on the Wairarapa and Tararua roads, Marcus van Klink took the Malcolm Stewart Classic Rally by the scruff of the neck and never let go. Leading by over 5 minutes at the end of Day 1, the Group B RX 7 driver continued to power away on Day 2 to end up over 11 minutes clear of second placed Ron Davey.

Paddon to drive classic Escort at Rally Otago
New Zealand’s world champion rally drivers Hayden Paddon and John Kennard will tackle a new challenge when they drive a Ford Escort RS1800 in the classic challenge category of this year’s Drivesouth Rally Otago.
Paddon is currently home in Geraldine preparing for the next event in his Super 2000 World Rally Championship campaign, which is Brother Rally New Zealand from 21 to 24 June. In the meantime, the Kiwi star is keen to get any extra ‘seat time’ that he can.

Holder Rises above Challenges at the Wairarapa Rally
At six foot six young rally driver David Holder is used to standing above the crowd, and he can continue holding his head high after overcoming day 1 problems to clock up a strong performance at round 2 of the New Zealand Rally Championship (NZRC) held in the Wairarapa over the weekend.

Judd makes good start to Xtreme series
Christchurch driver Jeff Judd has made a good start to the new Rally Xtreme Challenge with second place in the classic class at the opening round, Rally Wairarapa.
Driving his Mk1 Ford Escort RS2000 as part of the Stadium Cars Motorsport team, Judd and co-driver Nicole Summerfield made a good start to the event as he immediately slotted into second in the classic class of the Rally Xtreme field, behind the far more powerful and sophisticated Mazda RX-7 of Marcus van Klink.
