He then reversed back to the control on the side of the road. He did not see the flying finish as they were using safety for the first time and lost their place. They also assumed the finish was where the start of SS4 was previously.

This was a breach of 2013-2014 Nitto Tyres NZ6 Sanctioned Series Articles section 14.3 'Seals may only be removed where authoirsed by the Series Scrutineer in accordance with the porvisions of Appendix Two, Schedule A, Article 3.7 of the current New Zealand MotorSport Manual' (Page 10). It is also a breach of Technical Regulation- Schedule S6 (Commodore) section 18.3 ' Penalties for breaking seals without prior authorisation shall be applied in accordance with the current New Zealand MotorSport Manual' (Page 12)
The Clerk of the Course rules that Motorsport NZ Manual 35- Appendix 1.09- Schedule P- penalty A2 A.7 (b) applies: Pual Muir (Car #4) is excluded from all rounds of the Nitto Tyres NZ6 that took place between the application of the seal on 20/10/2013 and 28/02/2014. The Clerk of the Course finds that after an inquiry into the incident between Cars 28 and 69 during race 5 at turn 8 that : 1. the two cars entered the corner side by side. Car 28 having caught car 69 on the appraoch to turn 8. Both drivers when spoken to have differing views on the cause of the incident. Video footage and Marshal reports both indicate contact between the cars did happen but not the reason for the contact. Car 28 is a small nimble hybrid race car, car 69 is a left hand drive Tranzam type car. Both sustained light damage. No blame can be apportioned to with driver. This is deemed a Racing incident.
The Clerk of the Course rules that no futher action be taken. Drivers are to be reminded that at all times care should be taken to be aware of where other Competitors are on the track, and that both Drivers have responsibilities when passing
