ARTICLE 3 ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Entrants and Drivers Requirements:
(1) All drivers shall hold a National Rally licence or higher and if the Entrant is other than the driver, an Entrant’s Licence is required in the name of the
Entrant.
(2) A driver who is registered in the 2008 NZ Rally Championship or who was
registered for the 2007 NZ Rally Championship as the Number One driver is
ineligible to register for the 2008 MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge or
Challenge Qualifying Series.
(3) To be eligible to win the North or South Island Rally Xtreme Series,
competitors must register for either the North Island or South Island Series
and compete in a minimum of two rounds in their registered series.
(4) No driver will be permitted to register for the Challenge Qualifying Series at a
time where it is impossible for them to meet the Challenge Qualifying Series
eligibility criteria, ref Article 3.1 (3).
(5) A driver is only eligible to register and score points in one Island Qualifying
Series and one class.
(6) Each driver must nominate (on the official registration form) the class (2WD or
4WD) they wish to register for.
(7) Any competitor who undertakes reconnaissance at a Rally Xtreme Round
(where this is permitted by the event Supplementary Regulations) shall be
ineligible to score points in that round.
(8) To be eligible to win the 2008 MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge,
qualifying competitors must compete in both finals Rounds.
(9) To be eligible to win the 2008 MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Co-drivers
Challenge, competitors must register and compete in a minimum of two
rounds of their registered Island Series.
3.2 Vehicles:
(1) The Challenge is open to vehicles in the 4WD and 2WD classes complying
with MotorSport NZ Appendix Two, Schedule A.
a. Class 5 4-wheel drive vehicles
b. Class 6 2-wheel drive vehicles
(2) All 4WD vehicles that are required by Schedule A to have turbocharger
restrictors fitted shall be sealed at the first round entered. Restrictors must be
in strict compliance with Schedule A in all respects and be presented for
sealing with a crew member capable of removing any ducting necessary for
the application of seals. These seals shall remain in place throughout the
season. Should any seal be required to be removed for repair or
maintenance, it is essential that written permission is obtained from the Series
Co-ordinator prior to the seal being broken. Details of any seal applied shall
be recorded in the vehicles logbook.
(3) Turbocharger assemblies must be drilled and wired (with at least 100mm of
untwisted wire for the fitting of seals) so as to prevent either the removal of
the restrictor securing screws and or the removal of the restrictor from the
turbo compressor housing.
(4) Competitors are advised that vehicles filling the first three places in any round
or final, may be subject to post event technical checking and will be required
to remain in parc ferme conditions until released by the COTC or his/her
authorised representative.

4 XTREME CHALLENGE PERSONNEL

Who will be responsible for and authorised on MotorSport New Zealand’s behalf to
undertake the role of Xtreme Challenge Co-ordinator and:
(a) Liase with Television Production, Invited Clubs, MotorSport NZ, and
Competitors on all matters pertaining to these Articles, and
(b) Promote the Xtreme Challenge in accordance with these Articles.

Who will be responsible for and authorised on MotorSport New Zealand’s behalf to
undertake the role of Xtreme Challenge Secretary and:
(a) Deal with all Xtreme Challenge administration matters, and
(b) Receive and receipt registrations, and
(c) Record and publish Xtreme Challenge points schedules.
4.3 Series Technical Representative/s
The series shall have a technical representative who shall be responsible for
arranging the sealing of Turbocharger restrictors at all rounds of the series.
ARTICLE
5 XTREME CHALLENGE REGISTRATION
5.1 The registration fee for the Rally Xtreme Challenge is as follows:
$175.00 + GST for the Principal Driver
$45.00 + GST for Co-drivers who wish to enter the Co-drivers Challenge
5.2 In submitting an entry for Round(s) of the Rally Xtreme Challenge and Challenge
Qualifying Series, all registered Rally Xtreme Entrants and Drivers agree to comply
with these Articles and the National Sporting Code including its applicable
appendices and schedules.
5.3 Prospective competitors must make application to compete in the Xtreme
Challenge and Challenge Qualifying Series by completing the registration
application form, appended to these articles. The application form, complete in all
detail and accompanied by the correct registration fee must be lodged with the
Xtreme Challenge Secretary, no later than 14 days prior to the start of the first
Challenge Qualifying Series round in which the competitor wishes to score points.

5.4 The application will become valid only after the competitor receives an Xtreme
Challenge Entry Confirmation. Motorsport New Zealand shall have the right to
decline any application.
