ARTICLE 6 DETERMINATION OF THE MOTORSPORT NZ RALLY XTREME CHALLENGE AND QUALIFYING SERIES

6.1 Principal Driver
(1) Points for the North and South Island Rally Xtreme Challenge Qualifying Series will be based on overall class placings in the qualifying rounds.
(2) Points for the Motorsport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge will be based on overall class placings in each Final. Points from the Qualifying Challenge Series will not be carried forward.


6.2 Co-Driver
Points will be awarded to co-drivers based on overall class placings in the Challenge Qualifying Series rounds from each island, and the Motorsport NZ Xtreme Challenge finals, to a maximum of four scoring opportunities.


6.3 Points – Points will be awarded as follows:

1st 32 2nd 27 3rd 23 4th 20 5th 18 6th 16 7th 14 8th 13 9th 12 10th 11
11th 10 12th 9 13th 8 14th 7 15th 6 16th 5 17th 4 18th 3 19th 2 20th 1

And all other starters will receive one point

ARTICLE 7 - AWARDS

7.1 Titles
(1) MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge 4WD Winner: This title shall be awarded to the Principal driver who gains the highest aggregate points in the 4WD category from the two rounds of the MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge.
(2) MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge 2WD Winner: This title shall be awarded to the Principal driver who gains the highest aggregate points in the 2WD category from the two rounds of the MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge finals.
(3) MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge Co-driver Winners 2WD & 4WD:
These titles shall be awarded to the Co-drivers who gain the highest aggregate points in accordance with Article 6.2 in both the 2WD and 4WD classes.
(4) MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge Qualifying Series Winners –
North Island and South Island: These titles will be awarded to the drivers in each class who gain the highest aggregate points in their respective Challenge Qualifying Series. Awards shall also be presented to the first and second runners-up in each class in each island Challenge Qualifying Series.


7.2 Ties in the MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge or Qualifying Series:
(1) In respect of a tie in the Challenge Qualifying Series, the Rally Xtreme Challenge Co-ordinator will declare a tie for the classification and may declare the tied competitors as Qualifiers for the Rally Xtreme Challenge.
(2) In the event of a points tie in any classification in the Rally Xtreme Challenge, the tie shall be broken by adding together the total elapsed special stage times from both finals founds. The principal driver with the fastest elapsed time will be the winner.
(3) If an equal result is still obtained, the Rally Xtreme Challenge Co-ordinator shall declare there to be two equal winners of the MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge.


7.3 Presentation:
(1) The MotorSport NZ Rally Xtreme Challenge 4WD & 2WD drivers and codrivers winners shall receive at the MotorSport NZ Annual Awards dinner (May 2009) trophies and awards applicable to the title gained.
(2) The Challenge Qualifying Series awards will be presented at the final qualifying round in each island.

7.4 Round Awards
The winning registered Driver and their Co Driver in 4WD and 2WD will, at each qualifying round of Rally Xtreme, be awarded medals, whether or not they remain eligible for the Challenge in terms of article 3.1.5. In addition to the above, awards recognising excellence of performance in each round shall be made to the first and second runners-up in each class. These awards will be presented at each round.
