Rally Xtreme Welcomes New Sponsor

MotorSport New Zealand Inc is pleased to announce the 2008 Rally Xtreme Challenge.

This competition provides a unique and challenging series to decide the overall winners
of the 4WD and 2WD Motorsport New Zealand Rally Xtreme Challenge, together with
North and South Island Rally Xtreme Series winners in each class. As a result of the
positive feedback received from competitors entered in the 2007 Challenge, the Rally
Commission has made only minor changes this year’s format.

This competition is open to competitors in both the 4WD and 2WD categories but
excludes those competitors who are registered for the 2008 NZ Rally Championship or
who were registered in the 2007 New Zealand Rally Championship as the No 1 Driver.

The Coordinator will determine placings in each of the classes in each island series for
the registered drivers, by an aggregate of points scored from the competitor’s results in
the three qualifying rounds in the competitor’s registered island series. The North and
South Island Rally Xtreme Series winners will be the drivers with the highest aggregate
points score in each class. The top ten competitors in each class in each Island will be
invited to contest the 2008 Rally Xtreme Challenge to be decided over two finals events,
one in each island. The highest placed 2WD and 4WD competitors at the conclusion of
the finals will be adjudged the winners of the 2008 Rally Xtreme Challenge.

In addition to the overall winners of the Rally Xtreme Island Series and the Rally Xtreme
Challenge, prizes will be awarded for first and second runners-up and overall co-driver
in each class. Medals will be awarded to the winners of each round and the first and
second runners-up.

A formal registration is required to enter the Rally Xtreme Challenge.

It is expected that the Rally Xtreme Challenge will once again enjoy comprehensive TV
coverage on Prime and Sky Sport however coverage will be on a commercial basis and
is not the responsibility of Motorsport NZ as series organiser.
