ARTICLE 3 – ELIGIBILITY

3.1 Entrants / Drivers / Co-drivers

3.1.1 All drivers, co-drivers and entrants in the Championship must be a current financial member of any MotorSport NZ member club. If the entrant, as defined in the National Sporting Code, of a competing vehicle is also the driver, only one membership is required. All entrants, drivers and co-drivers must satisfy the entry requirements of each Round Organiser.
3.1.2 To qualify for the Championship points, the registered Driver and registered Co-driver must reside in the South Island.
Note: The Mainland Championship Coordinator shall retain the right of determination as to whether a registered driver resides in the South Island. Any competitor may seek clarification from them prior to lodging event entry.
3.1.3 Competitors who are not registered to receive points in terms of Article 6 will be deemed "non-existent" for the purposes of point’s allocation and all registered competitors shall have their placings improved accordingly.

3.2 Vehicles

Eligibility shall be for rally cars complying with the specifications set out in the current Motorsport Manual Appendix Two, Schedule A.

3.3 Classes

3.3.1 The following classes will be recognised for the Championship:
Class A 2WD 0-1300cc
Class B 2WD 1301-1600cc
Class C 2WD 1601cc and over
Class D 1601cc and over 4WD only
Class E Pre ’96 4WD – see separate technical compliance#
Class F 2WD Classics *
NB: Only one class may be entered at any one time

3.3.2 It is the competitor's responsibility to ensure that the correct class is entered on the Round entry form and the result sheet.
3.3.3 The Coordinators reserve the right to amalgamate classes if necessary, due to low numbers of competitors in a class or classes.

ARTICLE 6 - CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY / REGISTRATION

6.1 Drivers / Co-drivers

6.1.1 Registration for the Championship is to be made by Drivers and Co-drivers separately from entry to each Round. Registration for the Championship is to be made on the Championship registration form provided with these Articles and must be made to the Championship Co-ordinator.
6.1.2 Competitors shall be registered for the Championship PRIOR to the start of Round One to gain points for that event. Final registrations for the Championship close on 25th April 2008 for competitors who wish to compete at South Canterbury. There will be no exceptions. Competitors may enter the championship at any other time during 2008, but any such entry (including money) must be made so that it arrives with the coordinator at least 48 hours before any event in which points may be awarded.
6.1.3 Registration for the Championship will become effective from the date of receipt of registration form by the Championship Co-ordinator.
Note: Points for the Championship will only be awarded for Rounds entered after the date of receipt of registration.
6.1.4 Registration Fee: Drivers and Co-drivers are required to register for the Championship, at a charge of $30.00 each. This includes emailed newsletters. Information will only be emailed – there will be no information sent by post. Please make cheques payable to: Mainland Rally Championship. All prices are inclusive of GST.
A first time entrant in the Mainland Series is able to join for the super low price of $15 per person.
6.1.5 Entry for each Round of the Championship is to be made on the Round Organiser’s event entry form.
6.1.6 It is the responsibility of the competitor to obtain the necessary entry forms for each Round and complete them in accordance with the Supplementary Regulations for that Round.
6.1.7 By entering the Championship all entrants, drivers and co-drivers agree to comply with these Articles and the National Sporting Code and thereby become eligible for the awards and other benefits available under these Articles.
