Andre Heimgartner has continued his charge to a maiden BNT V8 title by winning round four of the championship at Teretonga this weekend.
Following up his win in race one of the weekend on Saturday, he banked more valuable points with two-second placings in today’s races.
Former series champion Andy Higgins (Lola T332) made it two wins from two starts today (Sunday) to claim overall category victory at the latest round of this season’s SAS Autoparts MSC NZ F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series at the second annual Taupo Historic Grand Prix meeting at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park this weekend.
Callum Hedge achieved what was required at the third round of the New Zealand Formula 1600 Championship, increasing his points lead over the chasing pack. Two wins and a second place at Teretonga Park, Invercargill, has given the 14-year-old Aucklander a 38 point advantage over Southland’s Ethan Anderson (Stealth) with fellow Aucklander Josh Bethune another eight points further back in third.
There was an early shower for entrants in the Archibalds Historic Touring Car Series at the Taupo Historic Grand Prix meeting on Sunday as attrition reduced the 11-strong field that started the weekend to just three cars prompting the cancellation of the final race.

Veteran Ken Smith (Lola T332) made a winning return to the SAS Autoparts MSC NZ F5000 Tamsna Cup Revival Series on the first day of competition at the second annual Taupo Historic Grand Prix meeting at the lakeside city’s Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park this afternoon.
