Callum Hedge achieved what was required at the third round of the New Zealand Formula 1600 Championship, increasing his points lead over the chasing pack.  Two wins and a second place at Teretonga Park, Invercargill, has given the 14-year-old Aucklander a 38 point advantage over Southland’s Ethan Anderson (Stealth) with fellow Aucklander Josh Bethune another eight points further back in third.

Veteran Ken Smith (Lola T332) made a winning return to the SAS Autoparts MSC NZ F5000 Tamsna Cup Revival Series on the first day of competition at the second annual Taupo Historic Grand Prix meeting at the lakeside city’s Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park this afternoon.

Callum Hedge has the provisional lead in the New Zealand Formula 1600 Championship as this weekend it heads to Teretonga Park in Southland for the third of five rounds.  It is a provisional lead, as the result of the final race at the previous round last weekend in Christchurch will now be decided through an appeal process, and not on the track.
