Local boy Conrad Clark has taken his first round win in the Hi-Q Components NZ Formula First Championship following a string of strong results at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park. While taking the round win, it was Reece Hendl-Cox and Kaleb Ngatoa who produced the biggest stories of the weekend.

Invercargill racing driver Liam MacDonald has scored another round win in Class 2 of the BNT V8’s Championship at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park in Taupo this weekend.
To do so he had to overcome a fuel problem in the opening race of the round on Saturday which had dropped him down the order late in the race. MacDonald bounced back the following day to record a win on Sunday morning before a second place in the third and final race of the round later in the day.
Cambridge driver Nick Ross has come away from round two of the BNT V8s at Taupo third overall.
Qualifying fourth, across the weekend’s three races Ross took his Total Lubricants Nissan Altima to fourth place in race one, a second place in race two, and third in the final encounter of the weekend.
Just six races into the championship, class two rookie Brock Timperley scored his first win at Taupo’s round two of the BNT V8s in what a challenging weekend for all competitors.

Rookie Christchurch driver Bailey Paterson has emerged as the new leader of the 2017/18 South Island Formula 1600 Championship at the halfway point of the season. At the third round of the series held over the weekend at Teretonga Park, Invercargill, Paterson finished on the podium three times including taking his second race win of the season. Second for the round showing consistent form was Kurt Peterson with Robert Toshach third, in an older Class 2 car.
